1. Introduction
Welcome to Outlets Live. Outlets Live ("Outlets Live", "we", "us" or "our") operates the outletslive.com website, the Outlets Live mobile app and the online stores built with them (together, the "Service"). Outlets Live helps businesses across India build, launch and grow their own online stores.
In providing the Service, we collect and use information about:
- Merchants who use Outlets Live to create and run their online store;
- Shoppers who visit or buy from a store powered by Outlets Live; and
- Visitors to the Outlets Live website or app, and anyone who contacts Outlets Live support.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect your Personal Data, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in line with this policy. If we change our privacy practices, we will update this policy, and if the changes are significant, we will let you know.
2. Our values
Trust is the foundation of Outlets Live, and that includes trusting us to do the right thing with your information. Three values guide how we handle it.
Your information belongs to you
We only collect the information we need to provide the Service. Where possible, we delete or anonymise information once we no longer need it. We use your information to benefit you and your business, and we do not sell your Personal Data.
We protect your information from others
If a third party asks for your Personal Data, we will refuse to share it unless you give us permission or we are legally required to. When we are legally required to share it, we will tell you in advance, unless the law does not allow us to.
We help merchants meet their privacy obligations
Most of our merchants are small businesses without a privacy team. We try to build the Service so that it can easily be used in a privacy-friendly way, and we are happy to answer merchants' privacy questions.
3. Definitions
- Personal Data means any data about an individual who can be identified from that data.
- Usage Data means data collected automatically when you use the Service, such as the pages you visit and the time spent on them.
- Cookies are small files stored on your device (computer or mobile).
- Merchant means a business or individual who uses Outlets Live to run an online store.
- Shopper means a person who visits or buys from a merchant's store.
4. Information we collect from merchants
We collect your information to provide you with the Service, and generally to help you manage your business and your relationship with your customers.
Information you give us
- Account information: your name, email address, mobile number and the Google account you sign in with. We use this to create your account, confirm your identity, give you support and contact you about your account.
- Business and store information: store name, business address, pincode, GST number (if you provide it), logo, products, prices, inventory, store policies and settings. We use this to build, host and run your store.
- Staff information: names, email addresses and permissions of staff members you add to your store, so they can sign in and manage it.
- Payment information: the plan you buy and the payment reference we receive from Razorpay, used to process your subscription and renewals and issue invoices. Card, UPI and bank details are entered directly with Razorpay; we never see or store them.
- Support communications: the content of messages, tickets and emails you send us, used to resolve your queries.
Information we collect automatically
- Access information: your device and browser type, IP address, operating system, and how you use your dashboard and our app. We use this to keep your account secure, prevent fraud, fix problems and improve the Service.
Information from third parties
- Google: your name, email address and profile picture when you sign in with Google.
- Razorpay: payment status and reference numbers for your plan payments.
- Shiprocket: shipment and tracking details, if you connect your Shiprocket account to your store.
5. Information about shoppers on Outlets Live stores
When you visit or buy from a store powered by Outlets Live, the merchant who owns that store collects your information, and we store and process it on the merchant's behalf so their store can work. This may include:
- Your name, mobile number, email address and delivery address;
- The products you view, add to cart and buy, and your order history; and
- Your device, browser and IP address.
Payments on merchant stores are handled by the merchant's payment provider (such as Razorpay). We do not store your card, UPI or bank details.
The merchant decides how your information is used. Please read the privacy policy of the store you bought from, and contact the merchant directly with any questions or requests about your data. If you contact us instead, we will pass your request to the merchant.
For merchants: the information your shoppers give on your store belongs to you. You are responsible for publishing your own privacy policy on your store, for telling your shoppers how you use their data, and for using it lawfully. We do not use your shoppers' data for our own marketing.
6. Information about website and app visitors

- Mobile device data: when you use our app, the type of device, device ID, mobile operating system and app version.
- Contact details: your name, email address and mobile number if you fill in a form, sign up or contact us.

We may also send you offers, tips and news about Outlets Live. You can stop receiving promotional messages at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by writing to us at privacy@outletslive.com. We will still send you important messages about your account.
9. When and why we share your information
Service providers
We work with trusted third parties to help us provide the Service. They can access your Personal Data only to perform tasks for us, and must not disclose or use it for any other purpose.
- Razorpay, to take plan payments and, if you connect your own Razorpay account, your store's payments.
- Shiprocket, only if you connect your own Shiprocket account to your store.
- Google, for sign-in.
- Hosting, email, SMS and infrastructure providers that run the Service for us.
Analytics
Merchants can choose to switch on Google Analytics or Meta Pixel for their store. When they do, those services collect information about how shoppers use that store, under their own privacy policies (Google, Meta). You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Business transfers
If Outlets Live is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your Personal Data may be transferred. We will give notice before your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Legal requirements
We may disclose your Personal Data if required to by law, or in response to valid requests from a court, government agency or law-enforcement authority. We may also disclose it in the good-faith belief that it is necessary to:
- Comply with a legal obligation;
- Protect and defend the rights or property of Outlets Live;
- Prevent or investigate possible fraud or wrongdoing in connection with the Service;
- Protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public; or
- Protect against legal liability.
Third-party services
The Service may link to, or let you connect, services that we do not own or control, such as payment, shipping or marketing tools. Your use of those services is governed by their own privacy policies, so please review them to make sure they meet your expectations.
10. Where we store your information
Outlets Live operates from India, and we process your information primarily in India. Some of our service providers may store or process data on servers located outside India. When this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data is treated securely and in line with this Privacy Policy and applicable Indian law.
11. How long we retain your information
We keep your Personal Data only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this policy. When deciding how long to keep it, we consider the nature and sensitivity of the data, the purposes we use it for, and our legal requirements.
- Merchants: we keep your account and store data while your account is active. If you close your store or your plan ends, we delete or anonymise your Personal Data after a reasonable period, except where we must keep it longer.
- Shoppers: the merchant decides how long your information is kept on their store.
- Usage Data: generally kept for a shorter period, except where we need it to improve security or the Service, or are legally required to keep it longer.
We may keep some information for longer to comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations (such as payment and GST records), resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. After we delete your account, we may continue to use information that has been anonymised and can no longer identify you.
12. Your rights over your information
We believe you should be able to access and control your Personal Data. Subject to applicable law, you can ask us to:
- Access the Personal Data we hold about you;
- Correct or update Personal Data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Delete your Personal Data; and
- Withdraw your consent to how we use your Personal Data.
Merchants can view and update most of their information directly from the Outlets Live dashboard. For anything else, email our Grievance Officer at privacy@outletslive.com (see Section 17). You can also nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you pass away or become unable to do so. We may ask you to verify your identity before we act on your request, and some rights may be limited where we are legally required to keep information. We will not charge you or treat you differently for using these rights.
Shoppers should contact the merchant whose store they bought from, as the merchant controls that data.
13. How we protect your information
We work hard to protect your information and keep the Service secure. Every store and dashboard is served over HTTPS, and access to your store's admin is protected by sign-in and staff permissions.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we use commercially reasonable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Please keep your login details private and let us know right away if you think your account has been compromised.
14. How we use cookies and other tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to run and improve the Service:
- Essential cookies keep you signed in and keep carts, checkout and sessions working.
- "Remember me" cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days on a device. Signing out removes it.
- Analytics and marketing cookies, such as Google Analytics and Meta Pixel, are placed on a store only if its merchant switches them on.
You can set your browser to refuse all cookies or to warn you when a cookie is being sent. If you do not accept cookies, some parts of the Service may not work.
15. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at anyone under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected Personal Data from a child under 18 without verified parental consent, we will delete it as quickly as possible. If you believe we may hold such information, please contact us at privacy@outletslive.com.
16. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will let you know by email or through a notice on the Service before they take effect. Please review this policy periodically.
17. How you can reach us
